Eyes sparkle as the soul sings.

Hi guys! Today I'm back with a review of the Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette. This palette has been on my wish list for a while now. I have to admit I was reluctant to purchase the Natasha Denona Glam eyeshadow palette because of its eye-searing price tag. But after hearing so much love about the product, I finally decided it was worth the okay from my wallet so I bought one on Sephora’s last-chance sale.

I'm going to cover everything you need to know about this palette, from texture and formula to colors and swatches. That way, you can make an informed decision about whether or not this is the right product for you. Let's jump right into it!

About Product

In a world of makeup palettes that are either too cool or too warm, the Natasha Denona Glam Palette offers an exciting middle ground. Featuring 15 shades in warm, neutral tones, the palette offers mattes, shimmers, and metallics in an array of shades that are as on-trend as they are wearable. Plus, each pan comes with its own insider tip from Makeup Artist Natasha Denona herself with shade names after their perfect placement to help you recreate her day-to-glam makeup looks.

When you're looking for a palette that will work for both day and night looks, this is it. You can use these colors to create everything from soft neutral eyes to bolder smoky looks—and everything in between. It's also great for traveling because it has everything you need in one compact place.

Metallic colors created with crushed crystals & pearls

Each pan is labeled based on the placement of the application (center eyelid, crease, transition, etc.). In theory, these shade names seem great for makeup novices but ND did receive a fair amount of backlash because the original placement is not inclusive of deeper skin tones. For instance, the name "Transition" for a cool taupe plainly alludes to lighter skin tones. I can't speak to this personally because I have fair skin with a neutral (leaning cold) undertone, but I completely understand how this shade range might not be inclusive of darker complexion tones.

It's also important that Natasha Denona came out with suggested placements for each shade based on skin tone. They are listed below for your reference.

Packaging

The Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette is a travel-friendly palette that comes in a sleek and sturdy plastic case with a magnetic closure. It doesn't feel very cheap in terms of plastic. The color is gorgeous, too. The large-sized mirror included makes this palette perfect for on-the-go makeup application.

The 15 eyeshadow pans total up to 19.25g/ 0.67 oz. You can remove the pans from the back and rearrange them as you please, giving you the freedom to create custom looks or use them as is for quick touch-ups throughout the day.

For a larger, 15-pan palette, I believe the packaging is quite sleek and isn't overly thick. Another benefit is that all of the pans can be removed; there is a hole beneath each shadow where a tool can be used to push the pan out. I adore palettes with removable shadows since it allows me to quickly grab 4 shadows and store them in a compact empty palette if I'm spending a few nights away.

Formula & Texture

The Natasha Denona Glam Palette is formulated with luminous mineral pearls and dazzling chroma crystals for multi-dimensional shine. The shadows merge seamlessly for a flawless finish while providing optimum color payoff. The hand-designed formulations wear wonderfully on all skin types and are buttery smooth and moisturizing.

The formula and texture of this palette are different from the brand's other palettes. For one thing, there are several different finishes and textures in the Glam Palette: powder, and powder-cream formulations as well as a few of the brand's famous sparkly metallics. All of the shadows have varied levels of pigmentation but are generally all similarly smooth and creamy to the touch.

Application

Let's talk about the application. I found that both fingers and brushes work just fine with this palette. You are the artist, after all—you decide which method will work best for you.

If you're looking for a more dramatic look, I'd say use your fingers with some of the sparkly shades here. For most of the others, though, a classic flat-packing brush would do the job for you. From my experience flat brushes are best for layering shadow, so if you want more impact from your Glam Palette use one of those.

I did not experience any shadow fallout with my palette, but it can take some time to build opacity as most colors are sheer(ish).

The shadows are very pigmented, so if you want them to look exactly the same on your skin as they do in the pan, you'll want to be patient and build up the color gradually. I recommend using a light-colored shadow primer for ultimate results (think white or white-heavy hues). The shadows blend beautifully into each other, so if you're looking for a natural look with a little extra shimmer (or POP), this is definitely what you're looking for!

Wear

The shadows have a soft, creamy texture that allows them to blend easily, creating a smooth canvas for you to work with. The shadows wear beautifully throughout the day and won't move anywhere—you can use them as much as you want and rest assured they'll stay put!

These shadows maintain their brightness and color accuracy for 5–6 hours when used with a good primer before gradually losing their intensity.

Swatches

You may find my unedited swatches below. Since these pictures were taken in the daylight, hopefully, you can see how these colors actually appear because of the natural lighting. Dry swatched.

The color selection is made up of universally flattering shades that work well together, making it easy to create subtle everyday looks or bolder nighttime looks, depending on your mood!

If you look closely at the shade names, you’ll see that they’re not the traditional shades like “pearl” or “dream” or “spice”. In fact, their names suggest how they should be used. For example, the name of the shade meant for your crease is “crease” and the name of the shade that will look amazing on your lid is “center eyelid”. Although you can always use the shadows in any way you desire, I love the idea of labeling the shadows to help people who might not be as comfortable curating their own looks.

I've already used this palette a lot and am certain that it will become a staple in my makeup collection.

I honestly think that this palette is one of the best products that Natasha Denona has created so far. The pigmentation is incredible, and the color selection is perfect for any occasion. If you're looking for an eyeshadow palette that will last you forever, this is a great choice!
